I guess I’m stating the obvious when I say, “Artificial Intelligence (AI) is everywhere.” From
But with all the buzz, the real question remains: How can AI be used to make learning more effective? How can AI be leveraged to do more than create efficiencies by using ChatGPT to help with ideas, writing, and putting together PowerPoint slides?
At Advantexe, we have been focusing on practical applications of AI to enhance our business simulations and accelerate learning at scale. With the growing need for asynchronous learning and reduced training times, AI helps deliver impactful learning experiences in shorter sessions. More than ever, our clients are asking, “What can you do in an hour or two?” AI is now enabling us to provide meaningful, high-impact learning in condensed formats. Rather than using AI for AI’s sake, we have been working on integrating it into our digital business simulations to provide learners with deeper insights, real-time feedback, and a more immersive experience. Here are two ways we are currently leveraging AI:
1) AI Coach Feedback
As mentioned above, one of the biggest challenges in business simulations is compressed learning timeframes. Participants must make complex business decisions quickly and absorb the impact of those choices in a shorter amount of time. This is where our AI Coach comes in.
Our AI Coach actually reviews simulation results, analyzing competitive decisions, financial performance, and market dynamics. We have “taught” the AI to understand our systems' dynamic models and algorithms to provide actionable feedback that explains what happened in the simulation. It offers data-driven suggestions for the next round of decision-making. AI identifies patterns and compares previous learner decisions to optimized strategies, helping participants grasp the why behind their outcomes. Instead of giving away the answers, it preserves the learning experience’s effectiveness, encouraging more practice and more risk-taking.
Another very successful use of our AI is through AI-generated market reactions. In the real world, business decisions don’t exist in a vacuum. Customers, competitors, and the market respond through many communications channels, like TikTok, Twitter, and Instagram. To replicate this, we’ve integrated AI-driven “tweets” and product reviews from fictional customers.
Our AI scans the business simulation data, analyzes trends, and generates realistic social media reactions and product reviews that reflect customer views. Did a price cut boost sales but hurt brand perception? Did a supply chain decision lead to a delayed launch and customer complaints? These AI-generated responses are based on actual decisions made in the simulation and provide learners with an immediate, contextualized view of how their decisions shape consumer demand and buying behaviors.
Summary
The goal of integrating AI into business simulations isn’t to replace human interaction in learning but to optimize it for greater impact. By leveraging AI for efficiency, we can enhance meaningful discussions, real-time coaching, and opportunities for reflection due to the increased amount of data. AI-generated personalized feedback and real-time customer insights help learners:
At Advantexe, we believe AI isn’t just about automating processes, it’s about giving learners the tools at their fingertips to think more critically, make better decisions in the simulation, and use new skills to ultimately drive business success.
